The Vehicle

The base vehicle for this trip is a 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser, this vehicle was chosen for its reliable reputation, solid build, and locking axles. The vehicle has been upgraded with a 2" lift kit and 33" A/T Tires. A fully extending dual drawer system has been added to the cargo area, along with an 85L fresh water tank that incorporates a 12V RV water pump. An aux. sealed battery is also located in the rear to power the ARB fridge, water pump, and 1000W power inverter. A tire carrier was manufactured to mount the large spare tire and increase departure angle. This same system is used to create the addition Jerry Can mount for spare fuel.

The sleeping quarters for this trip will be an ARB Simpson III tent with optional Annex. This not only is a comfortable sleeping platform, but also allows for the additional room for us to eat / hang out in during heavy rains or bug periods.

To keep everything organized and secure, we have two fully extending drawers bolted to the rear of the vehicle. These drawers contain all our spare parts and tools in the bottom and the top contains all the dry food and cooking devices. There is also an 85L fresh water tank and tap for washing dishes, showering, and drinking if we run out of bottled water.
